Kristen Droste – Grand Rapids Portrait Photography
Posted on June 21, 2010
Recently I have been dreaming about styling my own photo shoot – so today I did just that!
While Kai was consumed with wedditing at home, I took my dear friend, Kristen, out for a mini portrait session.
Beforehand, I styled her hair, applied her make-up, raided her closet and hand-picked her outfit.
Then we headed downtown where I directed and shot her session.
We had a blast!
Kristen was the perfect model because 1. She’s totally gorgeous and 2. She is completely natural in front of the camera.
Thanks for the great day, Kristen, (including the Olive Garden soup, salad, and breadsticks!) and for being my guinea pig.

Kayley…your shots and styling choices are beautiful. She looks so fresh and comfortable. It’s amazing how such simple backgrounds can make such profound pictures!
Thanks to both of you!
Kyle – I did pick out the accessories! I saw the ring still with the tag on in Kristen’s jewelry drawer (yes, she has a jewelry DRAWER) and she mentioned that she was never brave enough to wear it. That sealed the deal for me!
So much fun! I would love to style my own shoot too, maybe one of these days I will, if I ever have time!
You did an awesome job, Kayley. Did you pick out the accessories too? That ring is killer!
gorgeous! I think you did a fabulous job…I would love to style one as well!
