Jessica and Mike – Ann Arbor Wedding Photography

Posted on June 19, 2012

Kai and I both had an awesome experience photographing this wedding! Right from the very beginning Jessica’s dad made us feel so comfortable by showing us around the church and telling us how happy they were to have us there. Both of the families were so friendly and clearly thrilled to be celebrating Jessica and Mike’s marriage.

Jessica and Mike are perfect together and obviously so in love. Something that I noticed about these two is their physical closeness. It was so sweet to see a couple that obviously enjoys being together! When we were walking to different photo locations they would immediately join hands and walk together, and when they talked to their guests at the reception, they did it together.

My favorite part of this day was the first dances. This sometimes can feel like nothing more than a tradition, but not at this wedding. The smiles on Jessica, Mike, and their parent’s faces were so huge it was impossible to get a bad picture. It was clear that they were soaking everything in and enjoying each moment! This day was, in a word, joyful … and I hope these pictures show that. Enjoy!

and the heavens open every time she smiles

and when I come to her, that’s where I belong.
Yeah, I run to her like a river song.”

Jacqueline and Jason – St. Joseph Wedding Photography

Posted on June 5, 2012

We had the honor of photographing Jacqueline and Jason’s wedding this spring in St. Joseph, MI! The wedding took place on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan at Jason’s family’s home. It was a warm and sunny day – perfect for an outdoor wedding!

When Jacqueline and Jason contacted us asking if we were available to photograph their big day, I remembered them immediately. Jason was the best man in Jason and Courtney’s wedding back in fall of 2010. They stood out in my memory, first of all, because Jacqueline has the most beautiful curly hair, but also because I call recall seeing them at the head table and on the dance floor obviously so in love and happy to be together. When I heard they were planning a wedding of their own it came as no surprise!

I loved all of the special details that Jacqueline put into making their day special and personalized. The signage, potted centerpieces, and lavender send off all stand out in my memory. This was a truly beautiful and heartfelt day, and Kai and I were so thankful to have the opportunity to be a part of it!

“So hard times or easy times, what do I care.
There’s nothing I’d change if I could.

The tears and the laughter are things that we share.
Your hand in mine makes it good.”
