Claire and Jay – Kalamazoo Wedding Photography

Claire and Jay are truly an amazing couple. We loved every moment of their day! Their families and friends were so upbeat, funny, and enjoyable to be around. I absolutely loved their reception venue, Cityscape Events, it was so classy, elegant and true to their style!
Both Claire and Jay smiled all day long and were so relaxed. The highlight of their day for us was taking the portraits between their ceremony and reception. We went to Celery Flats and Kalamazoo College and were able to take our time and get some awesome shots! Their bridal party was so cooperative and didn’t complain even though the temperature was well over 90 degrees.
The moment that stands out in my mind the most about Claire and Jay’s wedding was at the end of the night. Kai and I had gotten all of the party shots that we needed (by the way, their guests were rockstars. The dance floor was packed!) and when I went to say farewell to Claire and Jay, I couldn’t find them. I left the room to go to the restroom and as I passed by a stairway, I saw the two of them sitting alone on one of the steps taking a moment to be together. This really resonated with me because I feel so often couples get wrapped up in their guests and the party that they forget to enjoy each other’s company. These two are so in love and their big day reflected their relationship perfectly!

“I’ve been waiting for long
for something to arrive,
for love to come around.
…
Now our dreams are coming true
through the good times and the bad
I’ll be standing there by you.”
