Lauren and Kyle – Charlottesville Wedding Photography

Lauren and Kyle were married in Virginia on Lauren’s parents’ beautiful property. They own 30+ acres in the country side of Aroda and it was the perfect location for this down to earth wedding. The style of the event fit Lauren and Kyle’s laid back personalities perfectly.

We had the pleasure of photographing Lauren and Kyle’s engagement session last year in Ann Arbor before they booked us for their wedding. We absolutely loved working with them so when they got in touch asking if we’d be available for their big day we were so excited! These two are so comfortable with each other and their love is so infectious. It’s hard to take a bad picture of them, really.

Lauren and her girls got ready off of the wedding site at an adorable little set of cabins typically used by fly fisherman. The space we perfect for them and worked awesome for prep photos! They had the hair stylist come to them and everything went so smoothly. About a month before the wedding I received an email from Lauren asking if I would be available to help with her make up. Her original make up artist fell through so I was happy to step up! With a combination of some things she picked up and my small cosmetic collection we were able to put together a natural, but flawless, wedding day look.

One of my favorite things about this wedding was how they really maximized the use of their property. They had separate areas for pre-ceremony cocktail hour, the ceremony, the pre-reception cocktail hour, the reception, the photo booth, and the bonfire. It encouraged the guests to walk around the property and created such a welcome feeling! As I mentioned before, this wedding was so down to earth and truly a joyful celebration of Lauren and Kyle’s love. It was so fun and inspiring to be a part of this day!
